Members of the National Council of the Slovak Republic presented a parliamentary proposal to change the provision of meal vouchers as well as the financial allowance for meals for one month in arrears.

The reason for this is to remove a number of application problems in practice, for example the problem of providing meals in advance for newly recruited employees.Employers, on the other hand, will be relieved of the considerable administrative burden caused by the complexity of the system, as well as the additional administrative burden of taxation of meal allowances in cases where the employer has not provided meals for employees in advance.

If Members agree to approve it, the proposed changes will be effective from 1 June 2024
